Willow Grove musician shares love for bluegrass with local community
For Bill Williams, a violinist, fiddler, and resident of Willow Grove in Matthews, N.C., music is not simply a hobby, it is a lifelong love. On October 4, Bill and local band Folk Society serenaded residents of Willow Grove and members of the local Matthews community with their favorite bluegrass tunes. Willow Grove hosted this “Bluegrass Jam” as a free local community event.
Attracting quite the crowd at Willow Grove, the event gave Bill an opportunity to practice his craft and offered Willow Grove residents a unique musical experience.
When not dazzling the ears of other Willow Grove residents with his violin and fiddle, Bill maintains a bee farm and sells his honey locally. Bill has lived at Willow Grove since it opened, and he enjoys playing in the band for fun—it is a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
