Former Kodak model still wows at Fleming Point
Residents of Rochester, New York, are reminded every day of the impact Kodak, a technology company best known for imaging solutions, had on the community. Now, thanks to one Fleming Point resident, they are also realizing how Kodak impacted the lives of people within the community.
Meet Jean D. a current resident of Fleming Point and a former Kodak model. As a young woman, Jean spent her career as a secretary to the vice president of Kodak. Back then Kodak did not hire models. Instead, they used staff members to model for magazines, newspaper advertisements, and fashion shows. Enter Jean’s big opportunity! Jean was given the chance to participate in the Kodak fashion shows, where she travelled all over New York, modeling at McCurdy’s and Sibley’s department stores.
Jean’s husband, Bill, was also an engineer at Kodak for nearly 40 years.
